Precision-Built Cafe Racer Style with Year-Round Strength
The Apex is our brown cowhide cafe racer for people who actually ride — and for people who just want a jacket that's built as if they do.
The leather is full-aniline, drum-dyed cowhide — medium weight, which puts it between the lightweight feel of our sheepskin styles and the heavier structure of the Steel Rider. Drum-dyeing means the colour penetrates all the way through the hide rather than sitting on the surface, so the brown on the Apex won't crack, peel or fade over time. The full-aniline finish leaves the natural grain visible and allows the leather to breathe and develop its own patina naturally with wear. It softens noticeably within the first few months and continues to improve for years.
The design is built around the mandarin collar with snap closure — cleaner and more modern than a traditional stand-up racing collar, and one of the details that keeps the Apex from looking like a costume. Snap-down lapels and subtle shoulder detailing add structure without being aggressive. The slightly trim silhouette reduces wind drag, making this genuinely functional on a bike as well as off it. Zippered sleeve cuffs let you seal the wrists precisely for riding or wear them open casually.
Three exterior zip pockets with chain pulls sit flush to the body for secure storage with a clean profile. A leather-trimmed interior chest pocket handles cards or a phone. Inside, a 100% cotton flannel lining is one of the details we're particularly pleased with on this jacket — flannel is warmer and softer against skin than the synthetic linings you find on most jackets at this price point, and it makes the Apex genuinely comfortable in autumn and mild winter temperatures.
Hardware throughout is nickel-plated brass — corrosion-resistant, smooth operating, and built to last as long as the leather.

Fit: Trim cafe racer — slightly close to the body. True to size for most builds. If you have a broad chest or plan to layer, size up one.
Care: Wipe clean with a damp cloth. Condition every 3–6 months with a cowhide leather balm. Full-aniline leather absorbs conditioner well — regular conditioning is the single most important thing you can do to maintain this jacket.
